Role: ‘Viking: Rediscover the Legend’ Exhibition Volunteer

ROLE PURPOSE

This role is based in our art galleries during ‘Viking: Rediscover the Legend’ exhibition, 31

March – 7 July 2018. No specific experience is necessary as our volunteers will be given full
training and support. This role will enhance and deliver a positive experience to visitors and
give information to highlight specific objects.

Volunteers will be required to be in the exhibition from 10am – 4pm. Two shifts are available each day 10am – 1pm and 1pm – 4pm. Volunteers helping for a full day will have a lunch break of 30 minutes and break times will be available during both morning and afternoon shifts for all volunteers.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

To give a friendly greeting to all visitors and provide additional support as needed
To ensure displays are looked after, monitored properly and secure
To provide additional information about the displays as required

A GOOD ROLE FOR THOSE WHO:

1. Have an interest in or happy to learn about the Vikings and the history of Viking Sefton
2. Are approachable and friendly and enjoy talking to the public about The Atkinson and the Viking exhibition
3. Are happy to work unsupervised as part of a team
4. Are reliable with good time keeping
