Maggie Valerio is a very highly respected painter, poet and illustrator, who works mainly in oils but also produces intricate, detailed pencil drawings.
Although she now lives and works in Yorkshire, Maggie lived in Liverpool for many years during the 1970′s and 1980′s.
Maggie, who has written, illustrated and published more than 20 books, is a painter of extraordinary landscapes, still life, portraits and allegorical pictures, and has work in private collections both in the UK and Mexico.
Signs and symbols infuse her paintings, giving an extra layer of meaning, and Maggie is renowned for her highly imaginative and memorable work in combining fine detail with brilliant colour.
