Elspeth Hamilton – ‘Lifelines’
Exhibition 13 March – 12 April 2008
Elspeth Hamilton was born in Liverpool but left after qualifying at Liverpool University School of Architecture and now lives and works as an architect and artist in Cornwall and London.
For this exhibition Elspeth will display new oils, watercolours and prints that continue her love of landscape, but with a particular focus on locations where the land meets the sea.
“The large oil paintings abstract from work made on location. The smaller pieces intend to catch the moment, in terms of a spectrum of energy, heat, light and sound. The large oils are reflective and concentrate on the points of exchange… a question of zero.
“Born a Liverpudlian, always a Liverpudlian… I have always wanted to show Liverpool to the friends and colleagues I have met since leaving… 2008 seems like a wonderful opportunity to increase visitor numbers and see the city at its most inventive and enthusiastic.” EH
