Unsilent Night is a screening of classic silent short films accompanied by live experimental music at the Big Screen Liverpool.
The short films include The Great Train Robbery (1903), That Fatal Sneeze (1903), Georges Méliès Voyage a travers l’impossible (1904), Aladin ou la lampe merveilleuse (1906) plus TeaParty and JitterBug by TanDog using archive footage of Disneyland in the 1960s and New York World Fair (1939-40).
Newly commissioned music from North West musicians will accompany the films. Appearing via live relay from BBC Merseyside, performers include Fonik, a.P.A.t.T. and Frakture. Norwegian musician and saw-player Ragnhield Zeigler will perform her ethereal compositions at the screen itself.
Films and musical accompaniment can be viewed on the Big Screen in Clayton Square. The event is free and limited seating will be provided. Please dress warmly because this is an outdoor event.
