The Histories, Languages and Cultures Art Exhibition based in 8 – 12 Abercromby Square (established 2012) is a growing venture presenting exhibitions that raise awareness of both emerging artists and new innovative approaches to art.

The next exhibition includes the following artists:

Dr Fred Jones from the University Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology, including work in dry-point, mezzotint and wood engraving. Fred has exhibited both nationally and internationally ( www.frederickjones.exto.org)

Science meets Art as Dr Diane Munday and her colleagues Dr Marie Yang and Nicola Beesley from the University of Liverpool Institute of Infection and Global Health present their scientific pictures in unique ways. From abstract images of the cells that fight infections, to biology-based designs and an interactive genetics display, you’ll see science in a different light.

Clare Jones from the University Partnerships and Innovation Department, will be exhibiting a selection of photography images including wildlife, wildflowers and fungus.

Dennis Hartley, IT Technician for the University School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies with work taken from his exhibition entitled ‘Mother Nature’.

Other artists exhibiting are:

David Lockwood – a Liverpool based photographer and course leader of Digital Imaging and Photography at Hugh Baird College; Professor Jude Robinson with photos of people playing instruments which focusses on the hands, a photographer and Professor of Sociology and Social Policy at the University; Gene Terry: images from his travels around the world; Gladys Williams’ series of photographs showing changing images of Sefton Park and a series of paintings by Marie-Theres Gallnbrunner who lives and works in both Vienna and Liverpool and is currently exhibiting new exhibitions in Vienna and Kraków (www.mthg.net)
