3 – 23 May 2014
Open daily 10.30 – 17.30
The Macmillan Artists include painters, sculptors, photographers, craft workers and designers, and are exhibiting in Unit C7 along The Colonnades at The Albert Dock. Fifty percent of proceeds from sales at this exhibition go towards the provision of care for cancer sufferers.
We have held a number of exhibitions in areas north of the city such as Crosby, Formby, Southport and Ormskirk and we are extremely grateful to the staff and management at The Albert Dock for allowing us this chance to create increased awareness of our cause closer to the City Centre. The Albert Dock is particularly suited for our needs because of it’s association with Liverpool’s culture and much of the artwork on display corresponds with this theme. There is a range of drawings, oil paintings and watercolours portraying local scenes in particular Liverpool’s waterways and coastal areas as well as craft and design goods created from various materials included ceramics and fabrics. There will also be drawing and painting demonstrations at the exhibition.
Art For Macmillan Cancer Support uses empty retail properties as exhibition spaces in which to showcase and sell work by artists based mainly in Merseyside and Lancashire but on occasions, from further afield. We rely heavily on the generosity of local business management and ownership for the provision of space in which to exhibit; demonstrate our skills and raise funds to provide care for those whose lives have been seriously affected by a terrible illness.
