2 Xmas Soundwalk Specials: L1 Special & Derek Bailey Memorial Soundwalk

A Soundwalk is a practice: it is walking without talking, focussing on the sound around, focussing on being there rather than talking about it. The Listening Room takes you to undiscovered places: means of transport, your senses.

Sessions usually consist of 3 x 20 minutes sessions with light intermission to share thoughts and reflections and then move on.

Whether experienced as private meditation or as collective silence SOUNDWALKS refresh your ears and reset your sensual  awareness to where you are, live or work……… To-nights walk is a Xmas Soundwalk special:, drop out of the Christmas feeding and spending frenzy, observe and hear the details of the city centre. This is a rare chance to slow down in the urban rush, witness the spectacles and the narratives unfold within a landscape that becomes performance.

An opportunity to get out of the house, Listen to Great George, a 14 tonne bell. A memorial session to mark the passing of Guitarist Derek Bailey on Xmas Day 2005, and a moment to reflect on events close to us during 2009.
