Looking forward to this – make a note in your diaries. Not just this festival but the whole scheme for an arts centre in Edge Hill sounds rather exciting.
EDGE HILL INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
SATURDAY 9TH JUNE 2007
EDGE HILL TRAIN STATION, TUNNEL ROAD, LIVERPOOL
APPROACH TO PLATFORMS 3 & 4
10.00 – 18.00
EXCITING NEW PLANS TO TRANSFORM EDGE HILL TRAIN STATION INTO AN INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY ART CENTRE.
To kick start the creative programme, and fundraising campaign, Cathy Tyson will launch a day of international art, music, food, comedy, performance and dance – FREE for everyone.
Fresh from the first few legs of it’s European tour, a specially adapted Arts Truck will park up at Edge Hill train station on 9th June 2007 to deliver some of the best visual and performing arts from 5 European cities, free to the public.
Celebrating the arrival of the truck, and responding to the idea of migration, Kensington and Edge Hill have galvanised to welcome the international artists, joining forces to showcase the best of Liverpool talent.
The festival will include art, film, food, music, theatre, dance, talks and tours with a few extra surprises thrown in!
“A tremendous mix of local and international talent, a real cross-cultural, people-led event. And, hallelujah, it is NOT in the Albert Dock. It will be wonderful.
