The Black-E ‘Future, Fantasy and Fiction’

logoFuture, Fantasy and Fiction at the Black-e 31 October – 20 November 2008
Liverpool Biennial Schools Exhibition. One year ago, Liverpool Biennial invited 18 schools from the region to take part in the Liverpool Biennial Schools Project, with the main aim of increasing the use and profile of contemporary art across the curriculum. Teachers from these schools participated in workshops with International 08 artists and then developed ideas, in collaboration with a local curator, for a school-based project. Each school was invited to present one piece for this exhibition

In response to the Liverpool Biennial Made Up theme this exhibition’s title is Future, Fiction and Fantasy… imagining what might be, playing with or asking the viewer to find their own narrative within the work. Exhibits include a collaborative film shot using green screen technology with an animated background created by students at St Helens College, a Sarah Sze inspired piece, peep holes into miniature worlds, books physically hidden inside paintings… Come and have a look!
