The 12th Man by Tabitha Jussa – photography at the King Harry and Winslow pubs Liverpool 4.
Art blogging can take you to some unusual places. Although I’ve been to hundreds of matches at Anfield I don’t think I’ve ever been in any of the nearby pubs, certainly not on a non-match day. So it was interesting to be in the near-deserted King Harry pub – an LFC stronghold in Blessington Rd. – last week to see the photographs on the walls.
We were too late to see the other half of the project in the ‘Blue-nose’ pub Winslow in Goodison Rd.
This is a fine and interesting project by Jussa to photograph the local fans not just in this Capital of Culture year but leading up to both clubs moving to new grounds.
There’s some great shots and although it will be nice to see them all in an exhibition in Central library in August, I think they really belong here amongst the flags, trophies and fans.
