Tenantspin Talk (and sing) with Mike McCartney

An entertaining talk in the Box at FACT this afternoon as Tenantspin welcomed Mike McCartney on the couch to chat about his early Liverpool life and experiences as a Catholic bible rep, ladies barber and member of Scaffold. Mike discussed his photography through recent projects such as the touring ‘Mike McCartney’s Liverpool Life’ exhibition, the Live8 CoolPix publication and his upcoming Elvis, Buddy and Everly Bros book.
He has only just started to set up a website www.mikemccartney.co.uk

At the end Mike insisted that Tenantspin’s John McGuirk prove that he really is ‘The Best Spoons Player in Britain’ as we all sang along to the old Scaffold hit ‘Lily The Pink’

The interview was webcast and should be in the Tenantspin archive for viewing online after next Monday.

Meanwhile you really must watch the video via YouTube of the original Scaffold (Roger McGough, John Gorman and Mike McGear (as he was known at the time)). Very funny.
