International Slavery Museum: Afro Supa Hero

Friday 13 May – Sunday 11 December 2016. Celebrating the importance of role models and icons in combating the legacies of racism and discrimination, Afro Supa Hero provides a snapshot of a childhood journey to adulthood, shown through Jon’s personal collection of pop cultural heroes and heroines of the African diaspora.

International Slavery Museum Expands Its Collection

The International Slavery Museum has announced its first acquisition following a funding boost from the Heritage Lottery Fund. It is a copper engraving by the famous British caricaturist James Gillray, published in 1851, depicting an infamous scene of cruelty described during a parliamentary motion for the abolition of the slave trade.
