Stiwdio Maelor offers artists and writers working in any discipline the opportunity to undertake self-directed residencies in our newly converted Studio in an ex-mining village in the Snowdonia National Park.
This residency is fundamentally about process rather than production and can last two to eight weeks. During this residency the artist might explore the area and be inspired, test a new idea or way of working, or just get away from the daily routines of the studio and life. This resource offers the artist the opportunity to invest focused time and thought in their practice without the demands or expectations of making resolved new works.
Applications for 2016 are now open.
Artists and writers at any stage in their career are welcome to apply.
There is no deadline for applications, but the selection panel assesses applications on the 15th of each month.
