Lesley Fisher –
Artist statement

Since taking early retirement from teaching, I have been fortunate enough to indulge my passion for painting and paint daily using collage, acrylics, pastel, watercolour and charcoal.

I paint still life, landscapes and street scenes, inspired by the Wirral
and visits to the South of France.

My inspiration comes from a lifelong passion for colour, form and texture.  I enjoy experimenting and have developed a technique using collage and acrylics in order to create an exciting surface.

My approach varies, sometimes analytical, sometimes intuitive, and I often include text or collage into my work.  I love that freedom of choice.

Bringing life and movement into my work, each object interacts with another to provide depth, pattern, balance and harmony thus putting “life” into Still Life.

To me art is about a journey and is a very personal expression of the beauty around me.

I am a member of many local art groups and exhibit my work in galleries on the Wirral and in Shropshire.

Mark SmithArtist statement

Each piece of work by Mark Smith draws inspiration from the sea, and each has it’s own unique appearance and story to tell.

Objects found on travels or by shoreline often become part of the work.  Mark uses a variety of techniques to achieve the finished look of a piece, focusing mainly on decay and repair.
