egg.jpgEveryone is welcome to join in the fun for the 1st annual Open Culture Easter Egg Hunt!

Easter 2008 will see Liverpool play host to super sleuths of all shapes and sizes as they descend on the city’s cultural hotspots in pursuit of family fun and hidden treasures.

It is a free event and to take part you need to register by picking up a map at any of the 3 locations listed below, available from 10am Friday 14th 2008.

The map contains the cryptic clues which will lead you to 10 locations around Liverpool, where you have to solve a visual clue to get your map stamped by our covert characters!

Remember it’s not a race, and you can complete the hunt on single day or spread it over the whole weekend if you wish.

For a chance to win the grand prize you need to submit your completed form when you have finished. The winner will be treated to a VIP lunch at Liverpool’s newest restaurant, the highest in the country, “Panoramic” where they will collect their prize: an exclusive silver egg worth £1000 created by fine jewellery designer David M Robinson.

Runners up will have the chance to win family tickets to some of the hottest events during the Capital of Culture celebrations.

Rumour also has it mysterious things will be happening to the Liver Birds over this period too – so watch out as you pass the world famous Royal Liver Building!

Phil Redmond, Creative Director, Liverpool Culture Company said “ I’m absolutely delighted that two of Liverpool’s most well known companies have come together to support the Heritage Hunt as not only does it demonstrate what we can do together to make 2008 as accessible as possible, but also that culture can be fun! It is one of the first projects to come from Open Culture’s Company Culture Scheme, which aims to get companies to demonstrate their own cultural identities and indicates what businesses themselves can do to stimulate community engagement in cultural activity.”
