An exhibition documenting the film making workshop carried out in Porto (Capital of Culture in 2001), by students of architecture from the Universities of Liverpool, Porto, Cambridge and Tallin (Estonia).
The main exhibit is a series of short films made in both Liverpool and Porto exploring the urban character of these two cities utilising narrative and city symphony forms. It explores how architecture, real or staged, is used in film and cinema and how the moving image, in its multiple dimensions, can be a tool in the creative process.
This is a unique look at Liverpool’s architecture, urban character, and of course its people, made by young architects at the threshold of their career and a comparison of the architectural form of another great port city that has also been through the Capital of Culture experience.
