Sound from the all of the festival events taking place around the UK enters the microphone at each site and is streamed directly into the speakers of Gallery 1 at FACT. Andrea Buckley, Paula Hampson and Mary Prestidge are dance artists whose work spans five decades. For the past fifteen years their practice has been centred in Liverpool. They will be improvising contemporary dance inspired by the sounds in Gallery 1.

Liverpool Improvisation Collective perform contemporary dance to Cortical Songs, a new classical work performed at Goodison Park with the Live-a-String quintet, John Matthias, solo violin and interactive programming by Nick Ryan.

Philip Jeck and Vergil Sharkya start ’09 as they mean to go on with a new composition for the hangover year. They incorporate record-players, guitars, keyboards, dulcimers and electronics with no regard for the expense or debt they will incur in celebration of the condition of music.
