Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA) is seeking to enhance its already strong international profile of research excellence, and is expanding as part of a major programme of investment by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences by appointing a new Reader/Professor in Design.
The position open to candidates with research interests where there is a focus around emerging design agendas complementary to the research of the Institute. We encourage applications from candidates whose research links into our existing strengths in design management, strategy and theory, service design, product design, design interactions and design for sustainability.
You will pursue a high-profile research agenda and produce outputs at a level appropriate for a strong submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2020 and beyond. You will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and have relevant senior level administrative and management skills. We encourage a wide and diverse range of applications and are open to broad interpretations of the role of design in the 21st century.
