Q42 is an innovative digital project which uses creative ideas, technologies, social media and the latest research into LGBTQ+ young people’s needs to challenge isolation and loneliness, and better connect lesbian gay, bisexual, trans and questioning young people aged 13-18 across Greater Manchester.

Q42 is a partnership between young people’s mental health charity 42nd Street and creative producers Let’s Go. The aim of the project is to build a digital platform that not only supports LGBTQ+ young people, but is created by, and fully represents, them too. Q42 will create a safe online space and develop digital creative arts opportunities that combine peer support, self-help and learning. The project promotes young people’s emotional wellbeing and the safe exploration of sexuality and/or gender identity. A key outcome of the project is that young people are able to develop the confidence to access community-based services.

Funded by BBC Children In Need, you will join the project at an exciting time as we enter year two our Q42’s delivery. You will work alongside young people, a Mental Health Practitioner and freelance artists to take the work into its next phase of development.

We are particularly interested in someone who has knowledge and an understanding of arts and technology, and working with young people. You also need experience of co-designing ideas from implementation to delivering a final product or outcome.

Fixed term, ending August 2018, subject to funding. Contributory pension scheme available

Closing date: 10am, Tuesday 30th August

Interview date: 8th September
