Job Vacancy: Community Visual Artist, Wrexham, North Wales
Due to Your Space being successful in obtaining a contract through Children in Need (Wales), we are looking to recruit a Visual Artist as workshop leader to work on our ‘Achievements in Autism’ project. The project has three strands: Music, horticulture and visual art and you will work with the other leaders in collaborating towards an evening of exhibiting the young people’s work.
Brief: The artist will create a 12 week evening training programme in various areas of visual art for a group of children and young adults on the autistic spectrum in order for them to express themselves visually and to exhibit their work in an annual showcase performance illustrating achievements in autism.
Hours: 2 hours per session (6.30pm-8.30pm) 14 weeks per year.(3 x 4 week blocks in addition to 2 sessions for the annual performance / exhibition of work)
Rate of pay: £15.00 per hour (Annually 28 hours = £420)
Start Date: February 2016, though some training may be required prior to this.
This is a fixed term contract for three years initially (on successful completion of probationary period).
