Liverpool Biennial has announced that Sally Tallant is its new Artistic Director and Chief Executive. Sally brings with her a wealth of experience from her previous appointment as Head of Programmes at the Serpentine Gallery, London.
Sally Tallant said: “Liverpool Biennial is a landmark project and as the UK’s Biennial it has become one of the best reviewed and attended arts events in Britain. I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the Biennial to the next stage of its development and build on its enormous successes to date. Liverpool Biennial 2012 will commission and present work from the world’s leading artists, and I look forward to working with the Board and staff to ensure that the next Festival breaks new ground.”
Paula Ridley, Chair of Liverpool Biennial said: “We are thrilled that Sally will be joining us. Her career to date has made her one of the most respected curators in the UK and we believe that she will bring something very special to the UK’s Biennial. We look forward to working with her over the coming years.”
Sally Tallant will take up her post on 21 November.
