SUNDAY 5 June 2011 14.00 at Sefton Park Bandstand, Liverpool. The a.P.A.t.T. Orchestra presents… Musical Settings Part 1: On the Earth.
Featuring music by Cornelius Cardew, Richard Harding and Alan Courtis
After the city-wide processional extravaganza that was last November’s Sound Relay, the a.P.A.t.T. Orchestra return with the first in a 4-part concert series – Musical Settings – that will see them explore different environments, both physical and musical.
Musical Settings Part 1: On the Earth, finds the orchestra in the bubble within a bubble that is Sefton Park – a landscaped slice of rurality within the constructed urbanity of the city of Liverpool. The programmed music deals with themes of simplification and distance from the chaos of modern life.
Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England
The a.P.A.t.T. Orchestra welcomes players of any instrument, from any background and of any ability. If you or someone you know would like to join us for this, or any future activity, please email firstname.lastname@example.org (before June 1st if you would like to take part in this event).
