THE BIG DRAW 2005

Drawing fun for all ages at National Museums Liverpool

National Museums Liverpool is hoping to unleash the artist in all of us throughout October by holding a programme of activities as part of the Big Draw 2005.

The Big Draw is an annual national event - now in its sixth year - encouraging people to put pen, pencil, crayon or even charcoal to paper and get drawing!  With 1,500 events being held nationwide in schools, colleges, museums, galleries, shopping centres and other heritage centres, its aim is to challenge popular perceptions of drawing, make it accessible to people of all ages and stimulate creativity.

Juliet Staines, the learning officer for the Lady Lever Art Gallery says: “The Big Draw is a national initiative which has a simple aim - to get everyone drawing! National Museums Liverpool houses rich and diverse collections of paintings, textiles, furniture, sculpture and ceramics - taking inspiration from this collection, where better to look, think, invent, act and express yourself through drawing.”
