THE BIG DRAW 2005Drawing fun for all ages at National Museums Liverpool National Museums Liverpool is hoping to unleash the artist in all of us throughout October by holding a programme of activities as part of the Big Draw 2005. The Big Draw is an annual national event - now in its sixth year - encouraging people to put pen, pencil, crayon or even charcoal to paper and get drawing! With 1,500 events being held nationwide in schools, colleges, museums, galleries, shopping centres and other heritage centres, its aim is to challenge popular perceptions of drawing, make it accessible to people of all ages and stimulate creativity. Juliet Staines, the learning officer for the Lady Lever Art Gallery says: “The Big Draw is a national initiative which has a simple aim - to get everyone drawing! National Museums Liverpool houses rich and diverse collections of paintings, textiles, furniture, sculpture and ceramics - taking inspiration from this collection, where better to look, think, invent, act and express yourself through drawing.” The following activities are free and open to visitors of all ages:
· Little Artists John Cake and Darren Neave will be offering their expertise at the Walker Art Gallery by devising Fun and Drawing Games, with the chance to see your own work showcased in the gallery. 8, 9, 22, & 23 October 2005 15 & 16 October 2005 15, 16, 22, & 23 October 2005 11am -4pm 11am-4pm 15 & 16 October 2005 1:30pm - 3pm. The best drawings from all of the Big Draw 2005 activities will be showcased in a special gallery on our website. |
