Make Do and Mend at St Lukes

Plenty of opportunities for you creatives to join in and do stuff lately. This week you can pop into St Lukes ‘bombed out’ Church and join the Shrew Collective artists making recycled bags and prayer flags. The flags should eventually be hanging across the church somewhere. The Make Do and Mend book is great, Mrs Sew and Sew shows you how to patch a shirt!

The inside of St Lukes is looking better than ever at the moment with a proper pond, veg patch and wildflowers – very peaceful.

THURSDAY 4 – SUNDAY 7 June 2009, 12 noon – 16.00 at St Luke’s Church
The Shrew Collective present: Make Do & Mend: Recycled Bags & Prayer Flags, featuring recycled 1940s curtains made into bags for today and recycled 1940s attitude into wishes for tomorrow. Write your own prayer flag – a message of hope, an expression of something you would like to mend in your personal life – or the state of the world!
