Liverpool World Mental Health Day 2015 – Full Programme Announced

Liverpool – World Mental Health Day Festival 2015

World Mental Health Day 2015 falls on Saturday 10th October, and Liverpool will be marking the day with a festival of events and activities, including music, dance, art, comedy, film, circus skills, creative writing, neighbourhood events, training, advice, information and support…and more!

The Festival has been co-ordinated for the 6th year by Liverpool Mental Health Consortium, a user-led charity which, in its 20 year existence, has become a community of service users, voluntary and statutory sector providers and commissioners who come together equally as mental health stakeholders.

Visual art elements include Dignity in Mental Health Art Exhibition hosted by Baltic Creative and Unit 51 in Jamaica Street from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October and ‘Art-tastic’ exhibition at PSS in Seel Street.

The central hub for the day itself will be Williamson Square, but events will also be taking place in a range of sites and venues throughout October. You can download your copy of the full programme from the website

Claire Stevens, Development Manager, Liverpool Mental Health Consortium, said:

“People in Liverpool have to cope with a lot of day to day pressures which can lead to stress, anxiety or depression but this city also knows how to come together to provide mutual support and have fun!”

The aims of the festival are to raise awareness of the importance to look after our mental wellbeing and to challenge stigma. Organisers are delighted that internationally acclaimed artists The Singh Twins and Professor Green are endorsing World Mental Health Day in Liverpool by their involvement in the art exhibition and the “Mental Health & Me” writing competition.

Mental health service users, partners from the statutory and voluntary sectors – including those working in mental health, public health, social care, housing, advice, education and the arts – have teamed up to make this Liverpool’s best ever World Mental Health Day festival. Join the fun!
