Running throughout 2011, Liverpool City of Radicals is a programme of exhibitions, debates and events looking at radical Liverpool – past, present and future.
Celebrating a century of radicalism in Liverpool, the year will provide a context for an investigation into the city’s history – culturally, socially and politically – as a place of radicals. We’ll be looking for new radical ideas as part of 2020 Decade of Health & Wellbeing.
Events will be taking place at venues across the city with opportunities to:
Connect… with the people around you by joining in debates and discussions.
Take notice… of your surroundings and Liverpool’s diverse cultural scene.
Keep learning… by finding out more about your heritage and discover Liverpool’s radical history. Visit a new gallery, theatre or venue and try something new.
2011 is an invitation to individuals, grass roots arts, community and other organisations to be part of a programme of exhibitions, events, debates and activities based around the idea of the radical. Whilst drawing on the past, Liverpool City of Radicals will also explore Liverpool’s current position and consider its radical future.
