Liverpool Biennial Wins Award at Art07

art07-award-1.jpgWe attended the annual Arts Council NW awards party at Manchester Town Hall last night. It was a good do excellently compered by the very funny Hardeep Singh Kohli.

Apologies for my poor photograph, they used those lights that move all over the place, totally blinding each person in turn once every 10 seconds.
So this is Lewis Biggs receiving the award on behalf of Liverpool Biennial as the winners in the ‘Putting the North West on the Map’ category (the screen behind them says its the ‘Totally Inspired’ category but that’s wrong)
I didn’t take a note of all the winners but Jon Winstanley who runs Sketch City in Manchester quite rightly was the overall winner – £10,000

Have to admit that the main attraction for us was a live acoustic set from Badly Drawn Boy, he was in good form despite the difficult conditions – a large hall with crap acoustics and an audience who were mostly more interested in the food, drink and talking than paying attention to one of the world’s top performers for half an hour.
