Liverpool Acoustic eXtra at View Two Gallery

Liverpool Acoustic is proud to be launching a brand new event this month that gives a little eXtra to the local music scene.

Liverpool Acoustic eXtra will take place on the second Friday of each month at the View Two Gallery on Mathew Street. Unlike the established Liverpool Acoustic Live event which sees local musicians performing alongside national and international acts, Liverpool Acoustic eXtra will only feature acoustic musicians from Liverpool and the ‘Greater Merseyside’ area.

The event is run by Liverpool Acoustic Live’s co-organiser Stuart Todd and local singer-songwriter Barry Briercliffe.

Liverpool Acoustic founder Graham Holland said “Liverpool and Merseyside has such a huge wealth of talented musicians, songwriters and performers, many of whom haven’t had the chance to perform at our monthly Live event. So when Stuart suggesting putting on an extra event just for local acts it really was a no-brainer!”

Liverpool Acoustic Extra’s opening night is on Friday 11th March 2011. Doors at the View Two Gallery open at 8.00pm and the music runs from 8.30pm to 11.15pm. Tickets are only £4 in advance from and £5 on the door.

We’ve got a fantastic local lineup for our first night.

* The Ratty Little Fingers create music with anything they can get their grubby little mitts on, and will take you on an emotional journey with their theatrical folk. The Ratty Little Fingers feature Katy ‘KingRAt’ McGrath on Vocals, Flute, Guitar, Ukulele and Kazoo, Christian ‘Curly Sandrat’ Sandford on Upright Bass, Melodica, Drums and Backing Vocals and Austin ‘Texas Loverat’ Ray on Banjo, Violin, Accordion and Glockenspiel.
* Miles Carrington has been performing on the local Liverpool music scene for a number of years now and we are very excited to have him performing at the Liverpool Acoustic eXtra launch night gig.
* Megan Dooley co-hosts Monday Marmalade at Chameleon Bar every Monday night and has performed several shows in and around the Liverpool area.  Megan’s influences range from Joni Mitchell to Ryan Adams, Ani Difranco to Damien Rice.
* Rae Clark is a man, a guitar, some singing, some merriment, some blues. Rae takes his influences from a wide range of musicians from Sigur Ros to Pink Floyd, Fairport Convention to Fleet Foxes.

Each Liverpool Acoustic eXtra comes with a complimentary podcast featuring one song from each of the four artists, and is hosted by Barry Briercliffe. The Liverpool Acoustic Spotlight show can be found at
