The culmination of a project giving artists based in and around Liverpool and Manchester the opportunity to meet and work together for one week. All applicants were guaranteed entry into the project and the 23 participants have worked together in an effort to create an exhibition which makes the best use of a 19th Century building which, though very dilapidated, contains multiple layers of history.

The building at 11 Wolstenholme Square in Liverpool has been the venue for 2 other exhibitions over the course of the Biennial. This event has allowed participants the opportunity to spend a greater period of time working in the building thereby giving them the opportunity to respond more directly to it.

'Static' by Steven Gent
This is a showing of new works from Gent’s on-going experiments using Current Displacement (static electricity) to create a unique form of auto-organic artwork.

These works are paradox; the artist is still whilst the medium draws itself to the finest uncontrollable detail.

Each piece then is born from a synergy of compulsion and movement as the electricity actually attracts the medium (bitumen) to its surface.

These are the lines of nature, unique without design.

Open; 16th-26th November 2006  12-18.00

Anglican Cathedral & Albert Dock - Cape Farewell - Art & Climate Change

The War Memorial Chapel within the cavernous interior of Liverpool Cathedral, enhances the ephemeral, fragile grace of choreographer Siobhan Davies’ Endangered Species. A projection of dancer Sarah Warsop, in an unusual costume of rods created by fashion designer Jonathan Saunders, moves gracefully inside a museum display case, at first liberated but then finally extinguished by her increasingly cumbersome attire.

At Albert Dock in Mermaid Court, between the Merseyside Maritime Museum and Tate Liverpool stands an outdoor modular exhibition telling the story of Cape Farewell through images and text and carrying current climate information. The exhibition is accompanied by a solar-powered soundscape created by Max Eastley.
