Light Night 2010 – Online Submissions

museums-at-night

From Charlotte Corrie at Open Culture…

We hope you are now all aware of Light Night on Friday 14th May 2010 – a fantastic evening city centre cultural festival that coincides with Museums at Night, an EU wide festival. The format of the Light Night will not be very different from the previous Long Nights, although this time the evening will start as family friendly as we can but it doesn’t have to end up like that!

To make the job of selling the overall offer and collating the marketing brochure easier we have created a simple online form for you all to complete. Please click on the link, follow the step by step instructions and once submitted all your info will automatically be added to our giant spreadsheet http://tinyurl.com/LightNight2010
Deadline for submissions is Midnight 25th March 2010.

Your listing/s could be for an exhibition, screening, open studio (art or music), talk, tour, walk, workshop or performance – anything special and unusual happening on the evening of Friday 14th May (4pm – late), indoor or outdoor under the broadest description of culture. Already we have some great people and organisations signed up with the likes of The Walker Art Gallery, Tate Liverpool, the Bluecoat, FACT, Biennial, St Georges Hall, Radio City and Steve Binns and now it’s your turn.

The Light Night will be heavily marketing within Liverpool and the Northwest and the likes of Culture24 will make a greater impact nationally. We’ll provide a strong marketing campaign; online and in print with 1000’s of Light Night brochures, full listings on Open Culture www.culture.org.uk and www.Liverpool.gov.uk, we have a dedicated press person pushing it far and wide plus we’re encouraging every participating venue/organisation to promote heavily across their own websites, databases and social networking sites. The aim is to make the impact and audiences as broad as possible. There is no cost to signing up to be part of Light Night, but we must remind you there isn’t any funding to subsidise any costs you may have.

We’re open to all suggestions and we hope you see the benefits of signing up, making for an even more successful initiative offering culture for all. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact myself or Christina on this email hello@culture.org.uk, or Dan Stinson Producer of the previous Long Nights Stinson.dan@googlemail.com

And finally don’t forget to sign up for Culture 24 www.culture24.org.uk to get your events online nationally.
