LEAP 2011 – Topsy Turvy Dance
MDI takes a mini leap into the CUC for a weekend of dance around the building.
FIT FOR THE FUTURE: Friday 25th March 2011, 1.00pm-5.00pm
A seminar supporting dance artists, companies and organisations featuring keynote speakers from Dance UK and Equity. The panel will provide advice on dance development and how the artist/company can use their skills and expertise to survive the recession. Sessions will provide skills for building a dance-specific business, diversifying income streams and improving your company. Information will also be given on the strategic direction of dance.
RADICALS – THE ARTISTS TAKE OVER: Saturday 26th March 2011, 10.00am-8.00pm
A day of creativity, performances, scratch sessions, networking and workshops by dance artists and companies from across the region. A trade fair will also take place in the crypt of the building.
YOUTH DANCE MERSEYSIDE: Sunday 27th March 2011
For the first time during the LEAP Festival, MDI is holding a day dedicated to Youth Dance on Merseyside. The day will feature fabulous and varied performances by youth groups from all over Merseyside.

The newly-formed Merseyside Youth Dance Company will perform a specially commissioned piece by Yael Flexer and Lyndsey McConville.
