Lovesong by Abi Morgan, is a haunting and beautiful tale of togetherness and love as a leap of faith; a meandering fusion of music, memory and movement, about how the optimism of youth becomes the wisdom of experience.

That is the story of our beginning. And this is the story of…the end”

Written by Abi Morgan and told from two different perspectives, an interlacing story of one couple unfolds. From young lovers in their 20s to worldly companions looking back on their lives, the optimism of youth becomes the wisdom of experience.

Exploring the changeable nature of relationships, the little betrayals and the thoughtless chatter of friends, their past and present selves collide in this tale of togetherness. Love is a leap of faith.

Lovesong is a meandering fusion of music, memory and movement, inspired by the T.S. Eliot poem ‘The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock’.

“Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky…
Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea.”
