Lancashire based Female Artists wanted, Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery

To coincide with this years international womens day on 8th March, Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery are calling out for 5 Lancashire based female* artists to join in with a one-day street art event on Saturday 10th March.

Opposite Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery is a large area of Hoarding boards, and five successful applicants will each recieve a section of this empty wall space to fill with their artwork. Each of the 5 artists will need to be available on Saturday 10th March to install their artwork.

This event is a celebration of women, local artists, Blackburn and community.

International Womens Day provides an opportunity to empower women and celebrate activists working to attain women’s rights on a global scale.

Artwork can be applied to the wall using spraypaint, Wheatpasting, marker pens or any other suitable methods decided by the artist. There is no theme or set style required, and this is an open call to all styles and types of artwork and artists.

(*This brief is open to females, and those who identify as female).

All materials will be provided, and each artist will receive a £150 fee

The wall dimentions are roughly:

1. 7m x 2.3m

2. 7m x 2.3m

3. 9.5m x 2.3m

4. 6.5m x 2.3m

5. 4m x 2.3m

Artists can specify which wall they would prefer on their application if they require a particular size.
