Over the months of July, August and September the Lady Lever Art Gallery is hosting many free events, exhibitions and workshops for all the family to enjoy including:
Whistler: The gentle art of making etchings
3 July – 20 September 2009
Open daily 10am – 5pm
James McNeill Whistler was one of the great masters of etching. This fascinating exhibition displays some of his remarkable works and examines the creative process from unmarked copper plate to finished print.
A loan exhibition from the Hunterian Museum & Art Gallery, University of Glasgow.

Travel to the continent through the gentle etchings of Whistler with our resident storyteller. (suitable under 8’s)
Want to explore the gallery in a different way? Each of our storysacks looks at a different theme in the gallery such as farm animals, St George and the dragon, bubbles and picnics. Choose a bag at the information desk and get exploring! (Suitable for under 5s)
