Salvage: An Exhibition by Tony Roberts

Salvage is an  exhibition of bas-relief painting. The majority of this creative work has been produced utilizing discarded books, paper & card.  Flintshire artist Tony says this style came about after observing how companies discard printed material as if not valuing the research and work put into producing them.

C.U.C. - Insight Photography: My World, My Story

Local photographer Elaine Stapleton spent 5 weeks earlier this year working with young children aged eight to 11 in six village schools in Tanzania. The children, who had never seen a camera before, were loaned digital cameras and taught how to take photographs. The project enabled them to tell their own stories by taking pictures of their friends and families and recording images of everyday life in their village. The resulting images are striking and uncontrived.

The Wall: Rich T

The Wall project offers wall space to emerging cutting-edge artists, challenging them to alter the landscape of the C.U.C. Changing every three months, it’s a truly active, artistic space that will be adorned by some of Britain’s best young artists.  To kick start in style Rich T, an established mural artist from Bristol, will leave his own distinctive brand of bold, vivid street art on The Wall.

This exhibition showcases the work of digital French artist Chris Von Steiner whose work combines the pop icons of his youth with bold colours,elements from movies, music, books and television. He draws on dreams and desires to create digital nightmares.

AFRO B.I.A.

Pidgin Productions once again bring something rare and unique to commemorate Black history Month. Presented under the heading ‘AFRO B.I.A.’ (Black Is Ace). The exhibition shows unforgettable moving image, still photography and  a collection of old vinyl records which reflects on the activity of Liverpool Black youth during the 70’s and 80’s.
