Why am I an artist?
Because I want to be good at it and I enjoy it. 
And
Why is art cool?

It’s bloody cool!

They should be the stock question and answers for art full stop, but tragically human nature loves to over complicate things beyond reason so I suppose I’ll have to give some added details. Here we go…

Let’s start in reverse order…

Art at its fundamental level is supposed to evoke a reaction from its audience. Now as a rule it should be a reaction the artist desires, sometimes it simply doesn’t matter.

I just came back to this, and re read that paragraph. Boring isn’t it?
