I graduated from Middlesex University (formerly Polytechnic) in 1987 with a BA Hons in Jewellery Design.

As a student I was awarded the RSA Bursary Award in 1985 and the Platinum Award in 1987

Designer enameller / artist, making - wall based art work / enamelled jewellery / small objects

statement:
I utilise the fusion of glass on metal to produce a diverse collection of products, ranging in scale from contemporary jewellery & small objects, through to wall based art works. Pieces are made as "one-off's" or in small batches as limited editions, which are made to order.
Background:
I graduated from Middlesex University (formerly Polytechnic) in 1987 with a BA Hons in Jewellery Design. As a student I was awarded the RSA Bursary Award in 1985 and the Platinum Award in 1987. Today I am an active member of the British Society of Enamellers, and also involved with my local group Merseyside Jewellers and Metal Artists Network. I regularly exhibit my work both in national and international exhibitions. As a self-employed designer enameller, I am skilled in all aspects of champleve, cloisonné, painted enamel and enamel panel work. In conjunction to producing my own designs, I undertake trade work, commissions, and I am an experienced teacher at Further & Higher Education levels.
Images below:
All panels are made from vitreous enamel fused onto copper and are fixed onto a wood base.
All jewellery pieces are enamels, set into silver
news:
I'm currently working on a series of panels based on urban areas. My influence is in observing a city at the point of change and regeneration.
As Liverpool celebrates it's capital of culture status for 2008, the city is a dynamic place to be. Forgotten corners carry a beauty born by age and worn veneer, embellished by graffiti and marks from a working past. Whilst the new builds proudly gleam with their mirrored exteriors that reach for the sky. It is this juxtaposition of old and new, that is an inspiration. This series of work was on show at Design Show Liverpool , from 19-22 June 2008.

My work is also on permanent display at the Bluecoat Display Centre.
