I’m a bit late with this, sorry. Not sure that I’ve ever been to Wrexham but I know it has a great reputation for printmaking.
IMPRESSIVE New Work by Professional Printmakers
at Memorial Art Gallery, Yale College, Wrexham
Exhibition runs from 7th- 18th June 2010
Contact Gallery on 01978 311794 ext 2291 for opening times.
IMPRESSIVE is the latest exhibition from the Professional Printmaking Programme at the Regional Print Centre. Building on the success of last year’s exhibition, eight artists have produced an intriguing body of work. The rich world of the imagination is the key to this show and eight different imaginative worlds are explored here. The result is an exhibition of unusual depth, with both new and traditional printmaking techniques being used to great effect.
Fine art printmaking is a fresh and flexible medium and one that embraces the very contemporary. This is a lively and engaging show and presents an ideal opportunity to start or add to your print collection.
The Regional Print Centre at Yale College offers artists and designers from across Wales, and beyond, opportunities to produce work, learn new printmaking skills, develop professional practice, exhibit, initiate projects and meet some of the foremost practitioners in the field of print.
Wrexham is a nationally recognised centre of printmaking excellence. This year the Regional Print Centre is running a “printmaker in residence scheme” funded by the Arts Council of Wales. So far two schools and three printmakers have taken part. It is hoped to roll out the programme to several schools in Wrexham. If you are interested in joining our professional printmaking programme, or if you would like to be kept informed of events and activities at the Centre, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
