Illustrator (tender – £600), Bolton Museum

Deadline: Thursday 17 December 2015

An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop a selection of illustrations for an upcoming exhibition at Bolton Museum.

The successful applicant(s) will be fully credited in the space and on any accompanying material. The exhibition is expected to last for 12 months, and will be the museums main display whilst we undertake an exciting new development.

Brief
We want to create a friendly and inviting atmosphere as the exhibition will be aimed at young families. The illustrations will be used alongside text interpretation to animate the story of the exhibition and bring the museum objects to life. All of the illustrations must be white with strong, joined black outlines. We are looking for simple 2D front facing illustrations that we will print to life size.

Tender Submission
Please include the following in your tender submission:

Both of these:
– A friendly vole/field mouse
– A tree, complete with individual branches. Foliage needs to be apparent but individual leaves would be too detailed.

Plus 3 (or more) of your choice from the following list:
– Ornate picture frame
– High-backed leather gentleman’s armchair
– Sign post
– Magnifying glass
– Rosette
– Old-fashioned wooden cupboard
– Temple pillar/column
– Bird house/chicken coop
– Stable door/horse box
– Cave painting
– Street sign
– Toadstool
– Grass
– Weather cock
– Speech bubble(s)
– Directional arrow
– Old-fashioned desk
– Glass jar

Please submit your tender by email to: ian.trumble@bolton.gov.uk by 5pm, Thursday 17th December 2015

The final commission involves producing a full set of approximately 30-40 illustrations for a fee of £600. The deadline for this work is Monday 18th January 2016.

The successful applicant(s) will be chosen and contacted by Monday 21st December 2015
