You can also look at an exhibition from our archives, which has more information about the notorious king himself. The catalogue that accompanied this exhibition describing the conservation of the painting, is still available by mail order for £16.50 (plus £3.50 p&p, UK) or from the Walker.
The painting of Henry VIII is in Room one at the Walker Art Gallery alongside the other Medieval, Renaissance and Reformation era paintings. Children aged 8 and under can stop by at the Big Art children’s gallery and have a go at dressing up as Henry too!
