About FACT
FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) is the UK’s leading organisation for commissioning, exhibiting, promoting and supporting artists’ work and innovation in the fields of film, video, and new media.  We believe in the ability of individuals and communities to express themselves creatively, and work with international artists to develop exhibitions, increase knowledge about new technologies and their social impact.  Housed in the iconic FACT building in the historic Ropewalks area, two galleries, FACT Connects – a public engagement space and state-of-the-art cinemas invite visitors to experience a range of FACT activities from exhibitions and new forms of broadcasting to training and conferences; and finding new and interactive ways to encourage engagement throughout its programming spaces and in partnership with a broad range of participants and audiences.

Purpose of post
The purpose of the role will be to identify, develop and implement opportunities to secure funding for projects and activities in line with our business plan.

This fantastic opportunity will involve senior responsibility for coordinating and managing all bid-writing and fundraising activity across the organisation, and a lead role in the development, implementation and management of new initiatives to generate income.

The post will work collaboratively with teams across the organisation.

About you
You are an experienced fundraiser, with a successful track record of helping charitable and non-profit arts organisations to attract and grow income and funding from a wide range of public, voluntary and private sector sources.

You are ambitious but practical in your approach to fundraising and appreciate the balance of skills and requirements that this discipline requires.

You are well versed and highly competent in the art of bid-writing. You are also knowledgeable about, and eager to embrace, new practices and technologies such as crowd funding – ideally with some success already in this area.

You have extensive networks and strong relationships with public bodies, trusts and foundations, businesses and philanthropists, and have a good grasp of the nature of the exhibition, research, innovation, talent development and community projects in which FACT engages.

You are a strong leader, an effective manager and a powerful communicator – able to identify and build effective relationships across all stakeholder groups and at all levels of seniority.

You are passionate about art and creative technology; about FACT; and about the growth of Liverpool City Region’s cultural and creative sector.
