Priestley College Art Foundation Student Vicki Clampitt has created an interesting project called Forgotten Spaces which is a sort of exhibition of abandoned and neglected places in the north docks area of the city.
She says “My aim throughout this project has been to enhance the significance of forgotten spaces within our urban and industrial landscapes by focusing on the unintended beauty that can occur within them.
More recently my investigation has led me to several abandoned areas around the North Docks area of Liverpool. Here I have looked at objects found on site and created sculptures, installations and paintings from them.
At the moment I am looking at the idea of each site being a ready-made gallery or museum within themselves.”
