The Exhibitions and Collections Technical Coordinator (E&CTC) is responsible for the care and coordination of Lakeland Arts collection and artistic programme. This involves managing and delivering technical logistics for the presentation of Lakeland Arts nationally recognised artistic programme and overseeing & co-ordinating curatorial care of our collection. You’ll maintain the highest possible museum standards, ensuring we meet Arts Council England’s Accreditation.

Exhibition & display programme

  • Planning, organising and preparing necessary equipment, display and other installation requirements with Programme team as required, as well as external curators and artists
  • Commissioning and supervising external contractors ensuring that all health and safety requirements are adhered to in
  • Team working to ensure impact on visitor experience is minimised
  • Overseeing the technical and logistic requirements of artists’ installations and commissions of new work including digital requirements
  • Managing and overseeing with the Curatorial team logistics for transport, delivery and collection
  • Leading on the installation of AV within exhibitions and collections displays, and liaising with digital artists and producers when required
  • Working with the Curatorial team Assisting in the management of installation budgets in liaison with the Curators
  • Liaising with the Curators with regard to security and environmental requirements of works of art to ensure an appropriate standard of care is maintained in the galleries
  • Preparing relevant and necessary risk assessments 

Collection care

  • Management of Lakeland Arts storage and workshop facilities and associated tools and equipment. Maintaining clean and tidy environments to museum standard and ensuring objects are stored correctly
  • Assist with cataloguing and documentation of the collections; updating object movement and condition reporting
  • Management and reporting on environmental and pest management data at all Lakeland Arts in liaison with the curatorial team taking steps to ensure that required environmental conditions are maintained and Accreditation standards met
  • Oversee upkeep of collections displays and exhibitions; including routine daily gallery checks
  • Working closely with the Facilities Manager to support high building maintenance standards with reference to the galleries, workshop facilities, equipment, tools and storage areas
  • Cleaning and maintenance of galleries and displays out of usual gallery opening hours
