TINTED STEAM AND LIQUID LIGHT – WATERCOLOUR PAINTINGS FROM TURNER TO SARGENT FROM COLLECTIONS OF THE WILLIAMSON ART GALLERY AND THE ATKINSON.
Outstanding examples of watercolour art from the permanent collections of both galleries, illustrate the medium’s delicate fluidity and versatility.
Highlights include paintings by Turner, Constable, David Cox, David Roberts, Helen Allingham, William Russell Flint and John Singer Sargent.
The exhibition was previously on show in The Atkinson in Southport and has been supported by the Esmée Fairburn collections fund.
The curator, Stephen Whittle of The Atkinson will be giving our Williamson Talk on Saturday 4th of February 11 am. Talks are free but donations to the Williamson & Priory Friends, our supporting charity are always appreciated.
