Anthropomorphic Mouse Taxidermy
Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (BST)
Liverpool, United Kingdom
Anthropomorphic taxidermy is the process in which an animal body is preserved via stuffing and mounting to have life like or human form. Practitioner Kat learned the art of taxidermy after long being fascinated by the Victorian taxidermist Walter Potter.
During this workshop participants will be taken through the entire taxidermic process, skinning, cleaning, tanning, stuffing and posing their mouse. All materials will be provided for the class. A small selection of props will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring along any doll’s house miniatures they want for posing their mice. The aim is for each attendee to leave with a finished piece they can be proud of.
The session will be broken up with a lunch break, there are several places in the area providing a range of foods including gluten free and vegan options. The Baltic Social offers a 10% discount to any workshop attendants.
