ENDEAVOUR – an exhibition from Merseyside Embroiders’ Guild
In 1768 Captain Cook and Joseph Banks embarked on a 3 year voyage of discovery which took them to New Zealand and Australia.
Merseyside Embroiderers’ Guild is celebrating the 250th Anniversary of this voyage of HMS Endeavour with an exhibition of embroidery and textiles that tell the story of this venture.
Endeavour is on show in the well of the Anglican Cathedral, St James Mt, Liverpool L1 7AZ
22nd – 29th September 2018
10am – 5pm each day
Within exhibition hours there will always be members of the Embroiderers’ Guild there to talk about the work and answer questions. There is also a Young Embroiderers group in Merseyside and their work will be on display too.
The groups meet monthly and information about their 2018 programmes will be available. Newcomers of any age from 7yrs upwards and of any stitching ability are always welcome to come along to try a session. Further details can be found at:
