Join us for some truly unique art (and a glass of wine, of course)!
Robert Burgess, whom we love dearly (both for his beautiful art and his amazing personality!), will talk about his exhibition ‘Seaside Haunts’ at Chester Art Centre, which includes a set of thirteen paintings based upon the social impressions left after a stay at Whitley Bay, Northumbria, in 2014.
‘I have given each painting a simple title – a hint about how to consider the view. For instance, “Stranded” has two figures on a beach, in a situation of impasse. These paintings are narrative works where the observer can decide what the story, if there is any coherent one, is within each one. They stand alone and do not constitute a series. They are all painted in oils’.
Look forward to seeing you on Friday, 14 October at 6 PM!
