The In the Peaceful Dome title is from a poem by William Roscoe (1753-1831), Liverpool art collector, celebrated biographer, and campaigner against the slave trade. This talk by Xanthe Brooke, the Walker Art Gallery’s Curator Fine Art (European), will show how such international fame made Liverpool a destination
for cultural tourism.
