Clare Shaughnessy to exhibit new Wildlife Collection at
Enigma Gallery One 3rd – 30th June 2008.
Featuring intricate paintings of snow leopards, lions, bears, polar bear cubs and birds, the collection is a superb opportunity to see Clare’s work. Largely self-taught, Clare’s work has won awards in the UK and the US, and her paintings have such a lightness of touch that the viewer almost feels that they can reach out and stroke the coats of the animals.
To celebrate the exhibition, Enigma Gallery One is delighted to announce that Clare will be their Artist in Residence on Saturday 7th June. Clare will be in the gallery from 10am to 5pm to talk about the pieces in the exhibition and her life in art. “The paintings of Clare Shaughnessy are extremely collectable” says Susan Myers of Enigma Gallery One, “and we are privileged not only to hold her exhibition here, but also to have her as our Artist in Residence for the day. We know that there are many people around Merseyside and North Wales who collect her work and who will want to come and see her latest paintings.”
Born on the Wirral and now living in North Wales, Clare has worked for the W.W.F and R.S.P.B. , painting pictures showing the beauty and magnificence of animals. She is fascinated by all wildlife and feels compelled to draw them, particularly in their quiet and more intimate moments.
Enigma Gallery One will be open as normal on Saturday 7th June and all are welcome. Café Enigma will be serving teas, coffees and light snacks from its home in the upper gallery throughout the day and visitors are invited to browse and to talk to Clare about her work.
