Seven from Sefton
6 March – 4 April
Seven members of Sefton Guild of Artists – watercolourists Robert Goulden, Bernard Atherton, Rosemary Morison, John Pickles, John Ratcliffe, Ulrich West and a potter Brian Cook.
The Sefton Guild of Artists was formed in 1975 when several artists living in the North West of England decided to form a group which could concentrate on exhibitions in the region to display and sell their work. There are currently 19 members, all professional or semi-professional painters, potters and embroiderers working to a very high standard.
Robert Goulden, Bernard Atherton, Rosemary Morison, John Pickles, John Ratcliffe and Ulrich West are all highly skilled and professional artists in watercolour.
Robert Goulden and John Pickles who live in the heart of the city of Liverpool escape to their great loves – a boat moored at Holyhead and a cottage in Umbria, both of which feature frequently in their work.
John Ratcliffe and Bernard Atherton live in the Lancashire countryside where their landscapes record the mood of the changing seasons.
Rosemary Morison and Ulrich West have a quirky and very individual approach which sets out to test and intrigue us.
Exhibited with the paintings is the work of one of our potters, Brian Cook, creater of stunning dishes and eye-catching figures.
